Info:

The legendary Hanoi Rocks is a big part of rock history. They have influenced such bands as Guns N' Roses and Mötley Crüe, among countless others. Axl Rose has said that Guns N' Roses wouldn't even exist without Hanoi Rocks. Hanoi Rocks was important in the birth of the glam metal genre.

The band was founded in 1979 and just four years later they were touring in Asia with fans going nuts. Japanese teen girls were hiding in the closets of the band's hotel just to see a glimpse of their idols.

Drugs and booze were used frequently by the band. Their rock & roll lifestyle backfired in 1984 when the Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil crashed his car while driving under influence. Hanoi Rocks drummer Razzle was in the passenger seat and he died in the crash. The band never quite recovered of the accident, they suddenly broke up in 1985.

Hanoi Rocks made a comeback in 2001 with Michael Monroe and Andy McCoy as original members. They managed to get new fans and success, proving they still had what it takes to rock. Members were, however, coming and leaving frequently. After three new albums the band announced that they will quit in 2009 and held their last gigs at the legendary Finnish club Tavastia in Helsinki, where it all started years earlier.
